Student Officer Application

Congratulations on your decision to apply for an officer position in Virginia's State Career Association! Complete this application to be eligible for a regional-level, state-level, and potential national office.

You must be a JVG student in good standing, hold an officer position in your school's career association, and be a sophomore, junior or a senior as of the date of submission.

Be advised that all JVG officers must agree to adhere to the JVG Career Association Code of Conduct. Applications are due October 10. Successful applicants will be notified and assigned an office by October 20th.

Each JVG site may submit no more than 2 Student Officer Applications per program. The JVG Leadership Committee will appoint 2 officers from each region. These officers will be assigned the roles of either State President (1), State Vice-President (1), State Secretary (1), State Parliamentarian (1), and State Delegate (4). The committee will make every effort to assign the role best suited to each applicant's strengths and it is expected that, if chosen, each applicant accepts the position appointed to them by the JVG Leadership Committee and performs the duties of that position faithfully as part of the JVG State Career Association.

JVG officers MUST be available to attend the National Student Leadership Academy in Washington, D.C. from November 29 through December 2, 2023 and visit the General Assembly in Richmond during the legislative session. JVG will cover travel costs associated with these events for students and chaperones.

Additionally, officers must be able to attend 4 Zoom meetings and 1 in-person leadership day in the spring.
